Crews found a bobcat kitten listless and circling near the stump of a tree in the wake of fires that have burned some 73,000 acres in Northern California. A specially trained 2-year-old golden retriever-Labrador mix named Malvern has begun work calming witnesses in court cases in Santa Barbara, Calif. Just one week into his new job, Malvern has helped at least one witness relax enough to testify.
