Fish intake that begins between age 6 months and 12 months was associated with a significantly lower risk of wheezing at 48 months, Dutch researchers reported on the website of the journal Pediatrics. They also found that no fish consumption during the first year of life as well as introduction of fish in the diets of babies before 6 months correlated with greater odds of wheezing at age 48 months. A study in the Archives of Pediatrics & Adolescent Medicine showed that children need only seven minutes of intense exercise daily to stave off obesity and related conditions. However, researchers found children spend almost 70% of their time doing sedentary activities, 23% engaging in light physical activity, nearly 7% doing moderately physical activities and only 0.6% engaging in intense physical activity.
