| Novo Nordisk R&D has launched a research award program to support and established scientists in their exploration of novel hypotheses in the area of diabetes and obesity research. The Awards facilitate translation of new ideas into innovation by bringing new biologics concepts to a pre-clinical Proof of Principle milestone. Such biologics either have to be novel or represent novel effects of a known entity. Biologics therapeutics include large peptide or protein ligands (e.g. hormones), inhibitory or modulating antibodies, immunotherapies, small interfereing RNA (siRNA), and cell based concepts (e.g. stem cells). The program is open to scientists and academic and medical research institutions located in the US and Canada only.

Obesity and NPG introduce immediate online publication through Accepted Article Preview (AAP). The accepted, non-copyedited versions of original research articles, reviews, short communications, and brief reports will be published online within approximately three business days from receipt at NPG. The final copyedited version, in which corrections will have been addressed, will publish online afterwards as the Advanced Online Publication, which will replace the AAP version.
