The Naturejobs Career Expo journalism competition is back! Last chance to enter

We are looking for five budding science writers to help us with our coverage of the upcoming Naturejobs Career Expo in London this September. The conference will explore career paths in industry, academia and science communication, entrepreneurship, structuring a CV and transferable skills, among many other things. The five winners will have the opportunity to attend the expo and write up at least two of the sessions or workshops, sharing the advice and expertise of the speakers with readers from around the world.

Enter before 7 August for a chance to have your writing published on the Naturejobs blog and work with Nature Publishing Group editors.
This month's poll
Ask the expert: What question should Naoimh O'Connor answer?
What is the single most important thing I need to do to increase my chances of securing a permanent academic position?
I've spent most of my career writing papers and trying to secure funding. How do I now make my CV look more like something non-academic employers want to see?
The five year plan. How do I begin to think about what I'll be doing in 5 years when I don't even know where I'll be in six months?
I'm not especially shy but I really hate the idea of networking. How do I network so that I actually enjoy it? (and what use is it to me anyway?)
There's no point looking for a new job until a month or two before my contract is up, right?
