Chicago, Denver, Houston, Indianapolis and Atlanta, as well as Florida, are challenging established biotechnology hubs such as Minneapolis, Seattle and the Research Triangle area of North Carolina, according to a report from real estate firm Jones Lang LaSalle. States competing for biotech companies are offering tax incentives and funding research accelerators. - Mediware acquires Transtem to enter stem cell industry
Mediware Information Systems said it has acquired most of the assets of Transtem, a company that develops software for handling the collection and transplantation of adult stem cells for treatment and research.
