Cell division is not required for polarity establishment during neural rod lumen formation in zebrafish. In contrast, symmetric microtubule organisation along the tissue midline and cellular interdigitation localise apical junctional proteins around the tissue midline.

MEK1 inactivates Myt1 to regulate Golgi membrane fragmentation and mitotic entry in mammalian cells

TLR activation regulates damage-associated molecular pattern isoforms released during pyroptosis

Pathogens activate innate immune receptors, triggering inflammasome formation and cell death (pyroptosis). Inflammosome activation is sufficient for release of the chemotactic protein HMGB1 and pyroptosis. Additional signalling events are required to convert HMGB1 into a TLR4 agonist.

A gene loop containing the floral repressor FLC is disrupted in the early phase of vernalization

Arabidopsis flowering requires a cold spell (vernalization) involving downregulation of the FLC flowing repressor, which is linked to a gene loop between the 5′ and 3′ regions of the FLC locus. Loop formation is disrupted during cold exposure coinciding with downregulation of FLC expression and accumulation of antisense transcripts.
