May editor recommendation: Characterization of glomerular diseases using proteomic analysis of laser capture microdissected glomeruli

Implementing molecular techniques to analyze clinical kidney biopsies could provide insights into glomerular diseases that cannot be revealed by traditional renal pathology. Using laser capture microdissection and subsequent proteomic analysis on biopsies of kidneys in various disease states, Anjali Satoskar and colleagues show that this method produces reproducible and quantitative proteomic information that allows the diseases to be characterized in greater detail than before.
