Cell Death and Differentiation - Table of Contents alert Volume 19 Issue 1

In memory of Jurg Tschopp

This issue of CDD is dedicated to the memory of Jurg Tschopp, who died at a tragically young age while walking in his beloved Alps. Jurg was an immunologist, who took a particular interest in what cell death meant in the Immune System, starting from the mechanisms of T cell-mediated cytotoxicity, through the role of cFLIP in the modulation of immune responses, to the complex known as the inflammasome in which specific caspases mediate cytokine activation. Jurg has given so much stimulus and pleasure to so many of us over the years through his insights, and we hope that he would have taken similar satisfaction in the contents of this issue.
