News: The 2011 Nobel Prizes

 
 
 

The 2011 Nobel Prizes have been awarded.

The prize in medicine or physiology went to Ralph Steinman, Jules Hoffmann and Bruce Beutler for their work on the immune system, though Steinman died three days before the announcement.

The prize in physics went to Saul Perlmutter, Brian Schmidt and Adam Riess for their discovery that the expansion of the univerise is accelerating.
