The overall number of foodborne infections in 2012 did not change significantly from rates reported between 2006 and 2008, but Campylobacter and Vibrio infections have increased, CDC researchers said Thursday. While children younger than 5 had the highest rate of infection, individuals 65 and older had the highest number of foodborne-related deaths and hospitalizations.
